PRE-TEST PLANNING
Proper planning ensures that testing will be completed efficiently and with minimal interruption to your work schedule. Pre-testing arrangements include:
- Contacting your facility several weeks prior to your annual testing date to remind you that testing must be completed;
- Enabling you to choose the date(s) most convenient to your schedule—YOU tell US when your employees are available for testing;
- Pre-test coordination, including updating employee files, to ensure day of testing runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible;
- Supplying pre-printed case history forms with all relevant employee information prior to test day.
EMPLOYEE NOTIFICATION
To adhere to OSHA requirements, and to protect your company from worker’s compensation claims, Mobilear is able to provide employees with notification letters. These letters provide:
- Formal employee notification explaining the test results that can be presented to and signed by employees before unit leaves your facility;
- Documentation that confirms the employee comprehends the hearing test results and documents completion of the training program.
ON-SITE HEARING TESTING
Our mobile units come to your facility when most convenient for your organization. This translates into minimal disruption to both your company’s work floor and schedule. Our value-added services include:
- Testing conducted by Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)-certified technicians;
- Immediate determination of Standard Threshold Shifts (STS) before unit leaves your facility;
- Sound booth testing which provides a quiet setting for more accurate test results;
- High tech equipment that automatically stops hearing test if background noise is a factor;
- Hearing test results that are automatically transferred to our computer system to avoid operator hand-written errors;
- Immediate employee notification of Standard Threshold Shifts (STS);
- Testing of up to six employees simultaneously, minimizing lost production time;
- Heated and air conditioned trucks for the comfort of your employees.
- Completion of verification tests for STS, reducing the cost of additional outside testing needed;
- Return visits, if needed, to complete testing for employees who were absent on the day of testing.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
The most important component of any hearing conservation program is education. Mobilear’s training programs will fully instruct and educate your employees about noise and its effect on hearing, as well as types of hearing protection and their proper use. In addition, the purpose of the program is explained to your employees to increase participation. Mobilear’s training programs:
- Meet OSHA requirements;
- Can be efficiently completed in conjunction with on-site employee testing;
- Are revised to maintain employee interest and relevance;
- Can be customized to reflect your company’s specific policies and requirements;
- Performed in small groups to ensure employees understand the information presented;
- Cover a wide range of topics, including the effects of noise on hearing, how to better protect hearing and the purpose of hearing testing.
- Are available in alternate language versions, if needed.
FOLLOW-UP REPORTING
Mobilear will provide your company with a complete report that can be customized to your facility’s needs. Our reporting includes:
- Extensive discussion with an audiologist to review hearing test results and determine a plan for further follow-up action;
- Thorough review of each employee’s test results by an audiologist;
- Electronic files that contain all test data needed to comply with OSHA regulations and provide documentation in case of workers compensation claims;
- Contacting your facility annually to schedule testing.
We can also incorporate your company’s existing hearing test data into our database for more accurate results. If you already have a hearing conservation program in place, Mobilear can:
- Input your employees’ past test results into our database to create a more comprehensive and accurate hearing profile for each employee;
- Compare our test results to your provided results to prevent the loss of historical data.
